What can I put in my box?
Non-perishable foods (that have a long use by date) and some Christmas treats. We have created a suggested food list which you can download below.
Do I seal the top of my box? My box is so full it won’t shut!
Please do not seal your box. Our volunteer sorters will need to do a quick quality check of the contents of your box. If your box won’t shut the volunteer sorters will take some of your items to top up other boxes.
When and where do I return my box to?
Our main and preferred drop off is Saturday, 30 November 2024 to 27 Wellman Road, Forestville (available all day to drop off) as we will have volunteers to assist us to quality check and seal the boxes.

Will all the items I put in the box be kept in the same box?
We aim to keep the boxes the same as they are given. If you do have any double up of products it would be best to place towards the top of your box. The volunteer sorters can then redistribute to other boxes.
Where will my box go?
In 2024 the following food relief charities and organisations will be receiving and distributing the boxes:
Women & Children First, Northern Beaches Women’s Shelter, Local Kind, Foodcare Dee Why, Mission Australia (Ebbs House), The Salvation Army Manly, Proveda, The Link Community care, Youth Up Front, Street Mission, The Burdekin Association, Life Source, CareVan, The Village Chef (Meals on Wheels), YourSide (Care finder), The Community Pantry, Taldumade Youth Services. {We will continue to add charities and organisations until we reach our target of 2,000 boxes}.
As our boxes are barcoded this year, you will receive an email from us to advise which charity or organisation received your box.
Is there anything I can’t put in my box?
Fresh fruit, vegetables and frozen foods should not go in your box as they may perish before reaching the recipient of your box. Do not include used or damaged items or alcohol.
When will I receive delivery of my box?
Delivery will start to occur throughout the months of October and November. We will update on socials the days/dates of each suburb where delivery has been completed, so you can check for your box.
Can I write a Christmas card to go in the box for the recipient?
Yes, you can write a Christmas card to the recipient. Place the card at the top of the box, unsealed as it will need to be checked by one of our volunteer sorters. When writing your card keep it fairly general and sensitive towards the position of the people receiving the box.
Can I make a gluten-free box?
Yes, you can! This would be very much appreciated. Please mark the box with the words “Gluten Free” so that it is easily identified by our volunteer sorters.
Can I donate money rather than make a box?
Yes you can! All Charities would be grateful to receive gift cards in lieu of cash payments. Eg, Rebel, Coles Myer, Kmart, Target, Woolworths (food only), Coles (food only), Officeworks. Preference is for the gift card not to allow the purchase of alcohol.
Do you accept toiletries or just food products?
Yes, we do accept toiletries. We just ask that you keep these products towards the top of the box.
